Shimla, June 25 -- Stressing that environmental protection is a collective responsibility, Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia on Thursday said that safeguarding nature and conserving forests cannot be left to the government alone and requires active participation from every citizen.
The Chief Justice was addressing a plantation programme jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Rashtrapati Nivas, and the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department at Shimla, which also marked the formal launch of the Forest Department's statewide plantation campaign.
