Dharamshala , Nov. 27 -- In a significant development coinciding with the Himachal Pradesh Assembly's winter session in Dharamshala, the Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Joint Action Committee (HPJAC) accused the state government of revoking permission for the November 28 pensioners' rally at Zorawar Stadium.
Committee President Surendra Thakur said the administration withdrew approval after estimating that over 10,000 pensioners were likely to attend, far exceeding the stadium's capacity of around 4,000. The government has now directed that the rally be held at the Police Ground, Dharamshala, citing crowd management and law-and-order concerns.
