Shimla, Aug. 27 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court has expressed serious concern over unregulated dumping of muck during road construction projects, warning that such practices are aggravating landslides in the hill state, already vulnerable due to fragile topography and heavy monsoons.
Hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on debris disposal from a link road construction project between Motla and Sukhiar villages in Chamba district, a division bench of Chief Justice GS Sandhiawalia and justice Ranjan Sharma directed that contractors must strictly comply with the instructions.
