Shimla, July 4 -- Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Saturday called for value-based upbringing and stronger family bonds to combat the growing menace of drug abuse among youth, asserting that parents and society have a crucial role in shaping a responsible and culturally rooted generation.
Addressing the Shiv-Shakti Mahakatha and Shiv Vivah Mahotsav organised by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan in Shimla, the Governor said that while strict enforcement of laws was necessary to check drug abuse, the strongest safeguard against the social evil lay in imparting moral values and fostering a healthy family environment.
