Shimla, June 24 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that 636 individual and 20 community claims have been sanctioned under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006 between March 2023 and March 2026, with 2,259.24 hectares of land transferred for settlement of these claims.
He reiterated the state government's commitment to strengthening the rural economy, while chairing a review meeting of the Tribal Development and Horticulture Departments here on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said the government was focused on enhancing the income of farmers and rural households through targeted interventions in agriculture, horticulture and tribal development sectors.
