Shimla, June 4 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to allocate 25 per cent of the revenue generated under its Green Panchayat initiative for the welfare of orphans and widows, integrating renewable energy generation with social welfare and inclusive development.
The Green Panchayat scheme envisages the establishment of 500 KW ground-mounted solar power projects in 100 Gram Panchayats across the state.
The government has revised the revenue-sharing mechanism to ensure that a portion of the income generated from these projects directly benefits vulnerable sections of society.
