Shimla, March 30 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta on Monday strongly refuted the allegations levelled by CPI(M) regarding the Chester Hills project, terming them "false and baseless."In a statement issued here, Gupta clarified that he has no involvement in any irregularities related to the project. He said that the land in question, which he is accused of facilitating, was purchased prior to his appointment as Chief Secretary.
"The allegations against me are false. The land referred to was purchased before I assumed charge as Chief Secretary. The transaction was carried out with due permission from the competent authorities and strictly in accordance with the prevailing rules," he stated.
