Shimla, May 30 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday, urged students to avail the state government's education loan scheme offering up to Rs 20 lakh at one percent interest for pursuing higher education and professional courses.
Interacting with 21 students from Scheduled Tribal areas of the state who are beneficiaries of the post-matric scholarship scheme here, the Chief Minister said the loans were being provided under the Dr Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rhin Yojna to support students in achieving their academic and career goals.
He said the state government has undertaken various reforms in the education sector to ensure quality education for students nearer to their homes.
