Shimla, June 23 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday flagged off an Olympic Run from his official residence, Oak Over, on the occasion of International Olympic Day and reiterated the state government's commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and encouraging youth participation in sports.

The run, in which around 200 athletes participated in both men's and women's categories, concluded at the Indira Gandhi State Sports Complex after passing through the CTO area.

Extending his greetings on International Olympic Day, the Chief Minister said sports play a vital role in shaping the personality of young people and should be regarded as an important component of education.
