Shimla, March 3 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday met union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and sought special central assistance to bridge the state's revenue deficit for the financial year 2026-27.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), stating that the decision would have significant implications for the financial stability of Himachal Pradesh.
He said the state could not be equated with others where RDG support had been withdrawn, noting that RDG accounted for about 12.7 percent of the state's revenue, the second highest share in the country after Nagaland.
