Shimla, Nov. 2 -- Following the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet's recent decision, the Panchayati Raj Department has begun preparations to reorganise Panchayats across the state.
In this context, the department sent a letter yesterday to all Deputy Commissioners (DCs), directing them to examine and submit proposals for Panchayat reorganisation to the Directorate within 15 days.
It may be recalled that the department had invited reorganisation proposals from Panchayats last year. Most of these proposals were subsequently forwarded to the government, and the process was completed in several areas.
