Shimla, Aug. 24 -- The premises of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly witnessed a heated face-off between the ruling Congress and Opposition BJP legislators on Monday, with both sides staging protests and raising slogans over corruption and the State's rights ahead of the proceedings of the Monsoon Session.
BJP legislators arrived at the Assembly carrying briefcases as a symbolic protest and levelled serious allegations of corruption against the Congress government. Congress legislators, in response, carried placards and accused the BJP of compromising Himachal Pradesh's interests by allegedly working against the state's rights at the Centre.
