Sujanpur Tira (HP), March 1 -- Amid slogans of Happy Holi and colourful dances, the four-day-long national-level Holi festival started at the local Chaugan today.
Holi of Sujanpur tira is known worldwide due to the importance given to it by the great Katoch rulers of Kangra hills who ruled over these hills since 1789, when Raja Sansar Chand reconquered the fort and made Sujanpur tira as its capital.
HP Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Earlier, this festival was to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister SS Sukhu but he could not come due to some personal reasons. He was accompanied by local MLA Captain Rajinder Singh, the Deputy Commissioner, Gandharva Rathore and SP, Balbir Singh Thakur....
