Dharamshala, Feb. 19 -- A collective initiative by farmers in theLambagaon area of Kangra district has emerged as a model of ruralself-reliance and women-led empowerment in Himachal Pradesh.
The Lambagaon Milk Fed Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO), establishedin May 2023 at Sua village in Block Lambagaon of Jaisinghpursubdivision, has brought together over 500 farmers, strengtheningtheir livelihoods through collective farming, dairy activities, andscientific support.
A striking feature of the FPO is its women-led governance. Five out ofits ten directors are women, who also shoulder key decision-makingresponsibilities, presenting a strong example of rural women'sleadership.
