Hyderabad, June 5 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday criticised the Congress government for the sharp increase in market values of lands, alleging that the move would shatter the dreams of poor and middle-class families aspiring to own houses.
In a statement issued here, Rao termed the hike in land market values across various jurisdictions as "unscientific" and implemented without proper planning or rationale.
While stating that the BJP supports lawful benefits reaching farmers and landowners in rural areas, he alleged that the government's actual intention behind the revision was to increase revenue through higher registration charges.
