Pankaj JainNew Delhi, April 14 -- The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has notified the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026, introducing a stricter and more rationalised framework for fee collection from overloaded vehicles on National Highways.
The amended rules will come into force from April 15, 2026, and aim to enhance enforcement, improve road safety, and protect highway infrastructure from damage caused by overloading.
