Shillong, March 6 -- In one of the highest drug hauls in Meghalaya, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on Friday seized heroin and methamphetamine valued at approximately Rs. 51 crore in the drugs marketThe ANTF of the Meghalaya police also busted an inter-state drugs syndicate by apprehending a 34-year-old man from Mizoram and 42-year-old woman from Manipur's Moreh area on the India-Myanmar border involved in ferrying the narcotics.

Acting on a specific intelligence imput regarding drug trafficking, the ANTF team led by Saurav Kumar Saini, the Additional Superintendent of Police, conducted a co-ordinated 'Naka' checking operation in Ratacherra area in East Jaintia Hills district.
