Chandigarh, Feb. 16 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed the regular bail application filed by suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) H S Bhullar in connection with a high-profile corruption case.

The officer, who has been in judicial custody since October, had approached the court seeking relief on multiple grounds, including the completion of the initial investigation.

In his petition, Bhullar argued that his further incarceration was unnecessary as the final report in the matter was submitted on December 3.

He further contended that since he has already been placed under suspension, there is no risk of his exercising official influence over witnesses.
