Beirut, May 12 -- The Lebanese group Hezbollah said it carried out 20 military operations against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon over the past day, according to a statement issued on Monday.

The group said the strikes were conducted "in defense of Lebanon and its people" and in response to what it described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire, including attacks on civilians and the destruction of homes in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah claimed the operations targeted concentrations of Israeli troops and military equipment across several areas, including Taybeh, Tayr Harfa, El Biyada, Naqoura, Rshaf, Deir Seryan, Adaisseh, and Sarbin.
