Ranchi, Feb. 9 -- Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has accused the Hemant Soren-led government of failing to conduct urban local body elections on time and alleged widespread corruption.
Marandi stated that during the past six years, the Hemant government has worsened the condition of urban areas in Jharkhand.
He pointed out that the tenure of 15 municipal bodies ended in 2020, while the remaining urban bodies completed their terms in 2023. However, instead of conducting elections on time, the Chief Minister continued to run these civic bodies through administrators.
