Hyderabad, Aug. 28 -- Under the influence of a low-pressure area, heavy to very heavy rains lashed several parts of Telangana from Tuesday night to Wednesday night, severely affecting Kamareddy, Medak and Nirmal districts.
According to official reports, Argonda in Rajampet mandal of Kamareddy district recorded the highest rainfall of 43.1 cm. Other major rainfall figures include 32.3 cm in Akkapur (Nirmal), 30.2 cm in Sardana (Medak), 28.9 cm in Maramaredy town, 27.9 cm each in Bhiknur (Kamareddy) and Vadyal (Nirmal), 27.5 cm in Tadwai (Kamareddy), and 26.6 cm in Nagpur (Medak). Several other areas recorded rainfall between 20 and 25 cm.
