Panchkula, Aug. 15 -- Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to witness heavy rainfall on August 15 and again on August 17-18, while very heavy rain is expected over Uttarakhand during August 15-17 and Himachal Pradesh on August 17-18, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
According to the IMD's All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued on Saturday, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab on August 15, with isolated heavy rain forecast over the four areas.
The IMD has not issued a heavy-rain warning for these areas on August 16, but the threat returns on August 17 and continues through August 18.
