Pune, May 8 -- Pre-monsoon activity has intensified across the country, bringing sudden changes in weather conditions and offering relief from scorching heat in several states.

Dark clouds, strong winds, dust storms, and rainfall have started affecting many regions as the southwest monsoon gradually approaches. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for multiple states on May 8, 9, and 10.

According to the weather department, pre-monsoon showers are expected to significantly impact northwestern India.
