Bhubaneswar, May 20 -- The prevailing heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in interior districts of Odisha with most stations likely to record day temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius or more during the next ten days, according to the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA Deemed to be University here.
This abnormal rise of temperature, caused due to northerly movement of the sun along with clear sky conditions, will continue till May 30, Dr. Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director of CEC, said.
The conditions were further accentuated by the blowing of northwesterly dry hot wind from north India towards the Bay of Bengal which raised the temperature by 3 to 4 degrees C, he said.
