Mumbai, March 4 -- Heat and humidity levels have risen significantly across Mumbai and its surrounding regions including Thane, Palghar and Raigad, with Meteorologists predicting fluctuations in maximum temperatures across the state while warning that this year's summer, including this month, is likely to be more intense than usual.

According to a preliminary forecast issued by the weather department, maximum temperatures across Central India and Maharashtra are expected to remain above average during the summer season. Certain regions may also experience heatwave conditions. The department has indicated that temperatures could touch up to 37 degrees Celsius by March.
