Shimla, Oct. 24 -- Heart MRIs will soon be available in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that a state-of-the-art 3-Tesla MRI machine has been installed at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, and testing will begin shortly.

Speaking informally with reporters at the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister said yesterday that 3-Tesla MRI machines are also being installed in four other government medical colleges and at the Super Specialty Hospital in Chamiyana, Shimla. Until now, patients requiring cardiac MRIs had to travel to PGI Chandigarh or AIIMS New Delhi.
