Varanasi, Aug. 29 -- Indian youth are aware of a healthy diet, but high prices, the easy availability of junk food, lack of time and cooking skills, and peer influence are making it difficult for them to turn that awareness into healthier eating habits, a new study led by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has found.

The study, involving 68 young adults across from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru revealed that food choices among young people are shaped not only by nutritional awareness but also by affordability, convenience, social settings and digital media.
