Itanagar, Oct. 9 -- A healthy baby girl weighing 2.8 kg was delivered inside a 108 emergency ambulance while a pregnant woman was being transported from Community Health Centre (CHC), Jairampur, to Mayflower Hospital in Assam's Margherita for further medical care.
The delivery took place at around 7.30 am in the forested stretch between Jairampur and Jagun when the woman's labour progressed rapidly during transit.
According to EMRI Green Health Services, which operates the 108 free emergency ambulance service in Arunachal Pradesh, the emergency control room received a call from CHC Jairampur regarding the referral of a pregnant woman experiencing delivery-related complications and hypertension.
