Patna, May 28 -- Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar said the state government was working with full seriousness and vigilance to prevent and treat seasonal and infectious diseases, particularly Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), popularly known as Chamki fever.

Kumar said on Thursday that the Health Department had issued necessary guidelines to all districts and ensured comprehensive arrangements for prompt and better treatment of patients. He said 10-bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) wards had been established in 15 districts most affected by AES.
