Chandigarh, April 20 -- In a major crackdown on the distribution of spurious medical products, the health department has busted an illicit factory operating out of a residential society in Gurugram, which was producing counterfeit versions of Mounjaro-Tirzepatide injections.

The drug, manufactured by an Italian pharmaceutical firm, is widely used for diabetes management and, under medical supervision, for weight loss. Authorities arrested two individuals identified as Mujammil, a native of Uttar Pradesh, and Avi Sharma, a resident of Gurugram, in connection with the racket.
