HC strikes down state rules on VC appointments in Agriculture University, orders fresh selection process

Bhawani NegiShimla, Aug. 27 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Thursday struck down key provisions of the state law and rules governing the appointment of Vice-Chancellors of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur and Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, holding that the amended provisions were in conflict with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act and Regulations, 2018.
