Bengaluru, July 31 -- Former Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni on Friday secured major relief from the Karnataka High Court, which stayed his conviction in the 2016 murder case of BJP Zilla Panchayat member Yogesh Goudar and suspended his life sentence pending disposal of his criminal appeal.
A Division Bench headed by Justice Mohammad Nawaz ordered Kulkarni's release on bail after suspending the sentence imposed by the Special Court. The High Court also stayed the conviction until the appeal is decided.
