Shimla, March 31 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court pulled up officers of the Sukhu government for failing to ensure the presence of a responsible and competent officer during proceedings, expressing displeasure over what it termed as a "callous attitude."Hearing CWP No. 1979 of 2024 (Jai Singh Verma & Ors. vs State of H.P. & Ors.), the court noted that although officials were present in compliance with earlier directions, none was sufficiently empowered or informed to assist the court on policy matters.

Justice Ajay Mohan Goel observed that despite clear instructions, the concerned corporation failed to depute an official capable of addressing the matter substantively, and deprecated the practice.
