Shimla, Sept. 6 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court deferred to September 22 the hearing on petitions challenging the service extension of Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena.

The union of India informed a division bench of Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma on September 3 that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had recommended a one-year extension for Saxena "for executing various projects in the state in public interest," particularly those linked to the completion of works following the 2023 monsoon disaster.
