Nagpur, July 22 -- : The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has directed the Maharashtra government to process and clear long-pending reimbursement claims of private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act within six weeks, prescribing a fixed schedule for verification and payment of eligible dues.
The order came from a division bench of Justices Anil S. Kilor and Raj D. Wakode while disposing of a writ petition filed by Shantai English School at Shirajgaon (Mozari) and several other educational institutions.
According to the petitioners, the schools had admitted students under the RTE Act's mandatory 25 per cent reservation quota and were entitled to reimbursement from the State.
