Lucknow, Nov. 5 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has imposed Rs 75, 000 cost on the State of Uttar Pradesh for a man jailed in a false anti-conversion case.
The court also quashed an FIR (first information report) registered under the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021, against five persons accused of luring a Hindu woman to get converted.
The court slammed the police action as 'vexatious' and ordered the authorities to pay Rs 50,000 to one of the men who had to spend one-and-a-half months in jail.
