Mumbai, Sept. 9 -- The Bombay High Court today dismissed an election petition filed by defeated Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Rajan Vichare, who challenged the victory of Thane MP Naresh Mhaske of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
A single-judge Bench of Justice Riyaz Iqbal Chagla rejected the petition on the ground that it "fails to disclose the cause of action" and "is suffering from incurable defect and is barred by law." The court's order was pronounced today after being reserved earlier.
