Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 3 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday refused to interfere with an earlier order directing the release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to Punjab government employees and pensioners, handing a legal setback to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and piling fresh pressure on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over long-pending employee dues.

A Division Bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Rohit Kapoor dismissed PSPCL's appeal against the Single Judge's ruling and made it clear that financial difficulties could not be used to withhold statutory benefits payable to serving employees and retired personnel.
