Dhaka/New Delhi, Nov. 17 -- Bangladesh's former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was on Monday sentenced to death by the country's war crimes tribunal over a crackdown on anti-government protesters last year, terming it as "crimes against humanity". Hasina, who lives in India in self-exile, has trashed the tribunal as "rigged" and rejected the allegations.
India in a guarded response said it has noted the verdict and is committed to the best interests of the people of Bangladesh.
