Panchkula, June 28 -- Haryana Police have arrested a woman for allegedly creating a fake Instagram account using another woman's photograph and posting obscene content to damage her reputation, a police official said on Sunday.
The case was registered after the complainant approached the Cyber Crime Police Station (South) in Gurugram on May 22, alleging that an unidentified person had created a fake Instagram profile in her name using her photograph and was posting obscene and defamatory content with the intention of maligning her image.
Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under the relevant provisions of law.
