Panchkula, Sept. 6 -- The Haryana government has taken an in-principle decision to bring 13,093 sanitation workers employed on municipal rolls under the Haryana Contractual Employees (Service Security) Act, 2024, providing them service security up to the age of 60 and extending several benefits broadly at par with regular employees.

According to the sources, the government has also decided in principle to give the workers a risk allowance of Rs 2,000 per month, in addition to an additional 15 per cent over and above the amount payable under the 2024 Act based on their eligibility.

"The decisions has been taken on the directions of state Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini," the state government said.
