Panchkula, Aug. 5 -- The Haryana State Information Commission has ruled that information about District Information Technology Societies (DITS) cannot be withheld solely because they are registered societies.
If a Deputy Commissioner has supervisory and administrative control over a DITS, the relevant public authority must obtain and provide the requested information under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005.
State Information Commissioner Dr Ajay Kumar Sura issued the order while deciding a complaint under Section 18 of the RTI Act against the State Public Information Officer (SPIO), Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Rewari.
