Neeraj BaliChandigarh, July 31 -- Haryana athletes continued to make their mark at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with two boxers from the state reaching the finals and discus thrower Seema Kaleraman securing a bronze medal.
Bhiwani boxer Preeti Pawar entered the final of the women's 54kg category after defeating Zambia's Catherine Mwape in the semi-final. Preeti registered a convincing 5-0 victory and will now fight for the gold medal in the final scheduled on Saturday.
Preeti, a resident of Badsera village in Bhiwani district, has been associated with the Indian Army and currently serves as a Naib Subedar. Her father, Somveer, is an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Haryana Police.
