Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 20 -- A process that once took Haryana officials more than a month to assess the suitability of sites for major public projects can now be completed in as little as one or two days using geographic information systems, according to a state government review.
The change is being driven by the use of the PM GatiShakti platform, which brings land, road, rail, power, irrigation and other infrastructure data together for project planning. The system is being used to identify problems before construction begins rather than dealing with them after projects are launched.
