Panchkula, July 6 -- Haryana Police has intensified its statewide crackdown on narcotics trafficking and violent crime, with separate operations in Karnal and Sirsa leading to the seizure of narcotic substances, the arrest of alleged drug peddlers and the capture of an accused in an attempt-to-murder case.

A Haryana Police spokesperson said the operations were carried out under the directions of senior district police officers as part of the state's sustained campaign against organised crime and drug trafficking.

In Karnal, the CIA-1 team achieved a breakthrough by arresting an alleged drug peddler with 3.6 kg of chura post (poppy husk) during a special anti-narcotics operation launched on the direction of the Superintendent of Police.
