Panchkula, Aug. 2 -- Haryana Police's specially trained sniffer dogs have helped crack 48 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and led to the seizure of large quantities of heroin, smack, cannabis, charas, opium and poppy husk during the first six months of 2026, officials said on Saturday.

The canine-assisted operations were carried out under the state's 'Nasha Mukt Haryana' campaign, with the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) and district police teams using trained dogs to detect drugs concealed in vehicles, houses, warehouses, fields and other hidden locations.
