Panchkula, Aug. 6 -- Haryana Police sprang into action to save an 18-year-old student who had leapt into the JLN Canal. With the swift help of local villagers, they brought her to safety.
A Haryana Police spokesperson said the Matanhail Police Outpost team led the rescue, guided by Rohtak Range Commissioner Simardeep Singh and supervised by Jhajjar Deputy Commissioner Dharna Yadav.
The spokesperson said that around 10 a.m. on August 6, ASI Pradeep Kumar from Matanhail Police Outpost got word that a young woman had jumped into the JLN Canal at Matanhail.
He and his team, including ASI Mahesh Kumar, Head Constable Sarvjeet, SPO Pawan, SPO Dharambir, and driver Pravesh, quickly went to the scene.
