Panchkula, Aug. 4 -- To enhance security ahead of Independence Day 2026, Haryana Police has launched a statewide 'Operation Trackdown' targeting organised criminals, absconders, and habitual offenders.
In the first three days, police arrested 903 individuals, including 139 accused of serious offences, opened 13 new history sheets, and updated 81 existing ones to improve monitoring of repeat offenders.
This operation aims to reinforce law and order statewide and ensure peaceful Independence Day celebrations by targeting individuals involved in serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, snatching, kidnapping, and illegal arms offences.
