Panchkula, June 30 -- Haryana Police has foiled an alleged human trafficking attempt by rescuing two minor girls who were allegedly lured with promises of sightseeing, money and lucrative jobs before being trafficked for sexual exploitation.
A woman and her male accomplice have been arrested in the case, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
The spokesman said the case was registered at a police station in Panchkula on June 26 after the families of the two girls complained that a young woman from their neighbourhood had taken them away on the pretext of taking them on a trip and offering them money.
Acting swiftly, Panchkula Police constituted a special investigation team, rescued both minor girls safely and recorded their statements.
