Panchkula, June 24 -- What initially appeared to be the murder of a helpless three-year-old by an unknown killer has taken a horrifying turn. Haryana Police has arrested the child's stepfather, alleging that he killed the toddler because he could not accept his wife's son from her previous marriage, turning a family dispute into a brutal crime that has stunned Faridabad.

The breakthrough came within two days of the murder of the three-year-old boy at a house in Shiv Durga Vihar, Lakkarpur, where the child was found with his throat slit in a gruesome attack that shocked residents and triggered an intensive police investigation.
